Microsoft has locked in its biggest summer stage. And that's none other than the Xbox Games Showcase 2026.

Microsoft Gaming CEO Asha Sharma has recently confirmed that the Xbox Games Showcase will take place on June 7, 2026. Not only that, after this event, there will also be a dedicated deep dive into Gears of War: E-Day.

This showcase will begin at Xbox's traditional global summer broadcasting times, 10 AM PT/1 PM ET/6 PM BST. It'll feature first-party gameplay reveals alongside third-party partners.

Fable and Halo: Campaign Evolved are two of the most expected titles to appear in the Xbox Games Showcase 2026. The event might also reveal more about Xbox's next hardware, Project Helix.

Alongside this, Xbox FanFest also returns in Los Angeles. It ties in with the company's 25th anniversary celebrations, a reminder that Xbox is trying to reconnect with its core audience after a turbulent stretch.

"In my first month, I heard clearly that our community values Xbox FanFest. As part of the return of Xbox, we made the decision to bring it back to LA to recognize the players who’ve been with us over the years," said new CEO Asha Sharma.

This showcase will also mark the first-ever big event under the new leadership of Asha Sharma. So this event is going to be a litmus test for her approach.

Gears of War: E-Day Direct takes center stage after the main show

Right after the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 ends, the entire focus will be shifted to a dedicated Gears of War: E-Day direct. This won't be a mere trailer reveal event. There will be a full deep dive from The Coalition.

Gears of War: E-Day returns to its core, both in tone and storytelling. It depicts the Emergence Day, the moment the Locust invasion began. Familiar faces like Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago are expected to play key roles.

Fans have waited for a proper Gears revival. With other heavy hitters like Fable and Halo in the pipeline, putting Gears in the hot seat could turn out to be a great move by Asha Sharma.
