When is the 2026 PlayStation State of Play?

The start of the 2026 PlayStation State of Play will be phenomenal thanks to Marvel's Wolverine. Players will get a new look at the game's ruthless combat features, which is hardly something they'd want to miss.

The 2026 PlayStation State of Play will air on June 2 at 2:00 pm PT / 5:00 pm ET / 11:00 pm CEST. For Japanese viewers, the event will go live on June 3 at 6:00 am JST.

The event will be broadcast on the official PlayStation YouTube and Twitch channels at the given timings.

Marvel's Wolverine by Insomniac Games is the only title revealed to be a part of the broadcast. The remaining announcements remain a complete mystery, and the event is meant to last over 60 minutes.

This leaves a lot of room for speculation and expectations from eager fans. The June 2025 State of Play set the bar high by revealing titles such as Nioh 3 and Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles.

The event also delivered a fresh look at games like 007: First Light, Ghost of Yotei, and Pragmata, all of which went on to become highly acclaimed titles.

Owing to this, many fans anticipate the PlayStation State of Play event every single year, and 2026 is no different. It's even more exciting to know about all the interesting games on the horizon.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick had previously revealed that GTA 6 marketing starts in the summer this year. It has also been some time since fans got a glimpse of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

Will Sony Unveil New Hardware at the PlayStation State of Play Event?

The chances of Sony unveiling a new device at the 2026 PlayStation State of Play are somewhat low. One of the biggest contributors to this low possibility is the RAM and storage market.

The price increase in these chips due to AI has been significant and evident for the past few years. This often makes manufacturers think twice before producing or purchasing products.

That being said, there have not been any official announcements regarding a PlayStation 6. However, old rumors have previously suggested that Sony may be working on a handheld PlayStation device instead.

The rumors have existed since 2024, with evidence that is usually not solid. According to a VICE report, ClickR3 podcast host Spawn Wave once told their viewers that PS developers knew about a portable device.

Apart from this, recent leaks have not been fully believable. Fans may want to keep their expectations in check regarding hardware reveals.
