Valorant Mobile Surpasses 10 Million Players in China With Global Launch in Limbo

Riot's free-to-play 5v5 tactical hero shooter has become a bona fide multiplayer shooter game. And it looks like the mobile version of Valorant has also hit the right note, with active daily players surpassing 10 million.

According to a report from Insider Gaming, Riot Games made the announcement of surpassing 10 million active players on Weibo. The mobile version of the famous shooter title was released on August 19, exclusively in China.

On its first day, the free-to-play shooter title attracted 170k downloads, while also generating $1 million in revenue. People were enthralled by the announcement of the mobile version of Valorant, with the game seeing more than 70 million pre-registrations.

Per Insider Gaming, Valorant Mobile also became China's biggest mobile game launch last year, generating a record amount of $73.4 million in 2025 alone. Further, Tencent reported that both the PC and mobile versions of Valorant have surpassed a combined total of 50 million active players every month.

Let us talk more about the game's online release and whether we could see the mobile version of Valorant going global soon.

When will Valorant Mobile launch globally?

Although the game has had huge success in China, Riot Games is still quite quiet about any announcement regarding the game's international launch.

Back in August 2025, when the game initially launched in China, Riot Games stated, "We’re excited to bring Valorant Mobile to as many players as possible, but we’re starting in China and taking it from there. We will, of course, update you as our plans develop further."

This statement hinted towards a potential global launch sooner or later. Still, it has been quite a while since this statement was put out, and we have not seen any official announcements from Riot Games regarding the title's international debut.

This dampens the hopes for a global launch. However, fans are hoping the announcement will be made soon, especially since the game has already seen such stupendous success in China, including staying steady in the Top 5 in its genre on iOS.

Valorant Mobile’s massive success in China highlights strong demand, though Riot Games has yet to announce an official global release date. Would you play the mobile version if it comes out globally, or stick with the og PC version?
