Users Rejoice as Microsoft Reverses MS Rewards Decision

Microsoft has officially backtracked and reversed its decision on Microsoft Rewards. The 'Daily Set' payout will be restored to its original value instead of 5 points per task.

Users will once again earn 10 points per task, with the standard 30 total points being available on a daily basis.

Earlier, the decision was made to cap the daily payout total at 15 points, a 50% reduction, which was reported on X by a user. The same handle has now reported on the reversal of the decision by Microsoft.

Coming down to just 15 points per day from 30 is a reduction of 450 points over the course of a month. This created a significant hurdle for users relying on the system to organically fund their Xbox Game Pass subscriptions or digital purchases.

Much like the reduction, the restoration has happened quietly. While this has brought relief to users, the initial decision to reduce the points in the first place has somewhat fractured the relationship between users and Microsoft.

Fans React to the Microsoft Rewards Reversal Decision

The community gave positive reactions to the reversal decision, with one user attributing the change to Asha Sharma. "Kinda funny how it's one smart decision after the next since Asha has been CEO," the user said. Asha Sharma recently took over as the CEO of Microsoft Gaming.

But many fans pointed out their growing distrust and fatigue with how Microsoft is being managed. One user reasoned, "They always do this with each change, they reduce it to 5, then bring it back to 10. I have seen this happen 7 times now, with every MS Rewards update.”

Another user pointed out that Microsoft had extra points last month with a “claim” line in the middle of the screen. "100 points was the highest I claimed with one click," the user said. He further added, "Last month had more points overall than this month."

However, those "extra" 100 points were just the normal rewards received for completing the regular Bing puzzles that unlock naturally over time. So overall, users ended up losing more than they did in previous months.
