Resident Evil is packed with characters who have survived the worst odds. Be it hordes of flesh-eating zombies or top-tier bio-weapons, the game has showcased the rise of several characters. But these ten names are arguably the strongest. 

1. Albert Wesker

Owing to his superhuman enhancement from the Progenitor or T-virus experiments, Albert Wesker objectively became the strongest character in the Resident Evil franchise. He has extreme speed, strength, regeneration, and near-instant reflexes, making him stand above a normal human. 

Wesker has repeatedly overpowered elite fighters, taking on Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine together. And the only way he could be beaten was through a coordinated effort and heavy weaponry. 

2. Ethan Winters

Due to his Mold-based physiology, Ethan Winters ranks high on this list. The Mold gives him abnormal durability and regeneration. He has survived injuries that would be fatal for others. And the list includes limb loss and fatal trauma. Despite repeated encounters with high-level bio-weapons, Winters still continues fighting. 

3. Jake Muller

Jake Muller, like his father, has enhanced physical capabilities and viral resistance. He can fight bio-weapons in close combat, and that’s something very few characters can do effectively. His raw potential arguably rivals that of Wesker himself. However, the one thing Muller lacks is experience. 

But getting to play as a villain’s son on the side of good is one of the many things that make Muller a fan favorite character. 

4. Lady Dimitrescu

Apart from her mutated form and intimidating size, Lady Dimitrescu possesses enormous physical strength and regeneration. And not to mention the scary black claws that retract from her fingertips. 

5. Chris Redfield

Chris Redfield stands at the peak of non-enhanced human strength. Fighting and surviving against top-tier bio-weapons made him one of the strongest Resident Evil characters. He even survived encounters with Wesker. 

His raw strength, as depicted in the iconic boulder-punch scene, combined with his military training and durability, makes him a formidable human character. 

6. Jill Valentine

Jill Valentine isn’t that strong at the beginning of the storyline. But her post-experimentation self has shown enhanced reflexes and strength. She even stood tall against superhuman threats. 

However, Valentine survived against Nemesis before her enhancements on multiple occasions. That makes her one of the most resilient, if not the strongest, characters in the franchise. 

7. Leon Kennedy

Everyone loves the former Raccoon City Policeman Leon S. Kennedy. He excels in agility and combat efficiency, although he lacks Redfield’s brute strength. Kennedy has consistently survived against high-level threats, like the Las Plagas-infected enemies. 

But in Requiem, he’s unfortunately fighting an infected arm. 

8. Ada Wong

If we can consider stealth, intelligence, and precision execution, Ada Wong would rank pretty high on the list. She tends to outmaneuvers top-tier enemies and survives high-risk missions without much direct confrontation. Where she lacks in physical strength, she makes up for it with her brains. And it’s always a relief when she shows up in the game. 

9. Jack Baker

Under the influence of the Mold, Jack Baker exhibits extreme regeneration and brute strength. He’s a pretty tough character to kill through conventional means. Like many others, he repeatedly returns after sustaining life-threatening injuries. His durability certainly rivals that of the strongest enemies in the series. 

10. Claire Redfield

Claire Redfield also relies on her resilience and survival skills. Although she’s not on par with the others in physical strength, she consistently survives major outbreaks and protects them. She’s the resourceful lady in the franchise who deploys her quick thinking to survive.
