The annual gaming event of the summer, Summer Game Fest Live showcase hosted by Geoff Keighley and Lucy James, now officially has a date announced, and the tickets for the event have already sold out.
Summer Game Fest is scheduled for June 5 at 2 p.m. PDT and 5 p.m. EDT. The event will be streamed live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
The showcase features game reveals, major game-related announcements, and world premieres, along with live music performance, for which the details have not yet been revealed.
According to GamesRadar, the event could showcase updates on games like Control: Resonant, Blood of the Dawnwalker, and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis.
The event started back in 2020 as a new way for developers and publishers to announce their work to the public, while also giving updates about major changes in existing games.
Other events are also scheduled as part of Summer Game Fest, alongside the Xbox Games Showcase, which also features in the lineup.
Other Events Under Summer Game Fest Scheduled
There are several events that will span throughout the four-day schedule of the fest, including SGF: Play Days, Access-Ability Showcase, SGF: Day of the Devs, Wholesome Direct, Future Games Show Summer Showcase, Xbox Games Showcase, Gears of War: E-Day Direct, and PC Gaming Show.
The Access-Ability Showcase will focus on games' accessibility settings and design choices built for each game showcased, allowing fans with disabilities to enjoy the games as well.
SGF: Day of the Devs is usually hosted by Double Fine studio head Tim Schafer and showcases new indie games, whereas Wholesome Direct showcases games that "embrace joy, foster reflection, and inspire hope."
On the other hand, the Future Games Show Summer Showcase includes various reveals, demo drops, and world premieres.
Apart from these events, Xbox will also showcase some of its studios' upcoming games, potentially Fable. Also, the new major Xbox title, Gears of War: E-Day, will have an individual Direct for a worldwide reveal.
The packed four-day schedule suggests 2026 could be the most ambitious showcase in the event's history.
