Sea of Thieves Devs Reveal Final Major Update Before Custom Seas

Seems like Rare Ltd is making major updates to Sea of Thieves before the major Custom Seas update comes through, ensuring improvements in cosmetics, game health, and more.
The team has announced via an X post about the changes they are making and where they stand as a team. Production Director Drew Stevens first discussed how they were hampered by the storylines and that recent updates failed to hit the mark.
Stevens then moved on, stating, "We are not going to continue making commitments that we can't keep." Moving on with the updates, the developers will make improvements to maintain a balance between the Pirate Emporium and the Outpost stores.
The end of April will bring Midnight Prowler weapons and some more Resolute ship colors. May will bring in a clothing set that blends a few existing themes. In June, Outpost stores will start receiving "new bespoke items" each month.
The first item will be a Silver Coin set, with clothing items and equipment arriving in the Outpost across Season 20. Furthermore, the in-game tools to protect creators' identities will now be consolidated into a single menu and made more accessible.
The game will receive regular security patch updates, and the team is also working on an anti-cheat system. Also, long-standing bugs such as the mast bug, merchant supplies, and disappearing resources will be addressed.
Let's see what Season 20 will consist of when it arrives in June.
Sea of Thieves' New Season
Season 20 is set to be all about the Custom Seas, with the players able to spawn loot, turn off threats, and control the new ship types. Additionally, a live calendar will be available for returning events such as Last Ship Standing and Bilge Rats Weekenders.
Some common AI issues will be fixed, along with tuning for Bone Caller skeletons. Also, all on-demand Raid Voyages will be from the Quest Table, with any World Event guaranteeing the highest rewards, with players also having a chance to open the Chest of Fortune.
So, it looks like Sea of Thieves developers are ready to fix some long-awaited bugs and bring in updates that really matter before the new season kicks off.
