Roblox Developer Issues Major Warning — Players Need to See This

An anonymous Roblox developer has issued a stark warning for parents. Following a company interview on safety, the developer stated that constant monitoring is essential, claiming the platform is not safe for unsupervised children.
It looks like Roblox's safety concern topic has been tipped once again. An independent developer was quick to respond to Matt Kaufmann, Roblox's chief safety officer, in an interview on 5 Live Breakfast.
Kaufmann talked about the safety and security checks the company takes and further discussed the mandatory age-verification checks, which got a feature last year, so children would not be able to talk to strangers anymore.
According to a BBC Radio 5 Live interview, an independent who earns income by creating content on the platform, stated that parents need to monitor children on the platform "24/7, and if that's not possible then they shouldn't be playing Roblox."

The developer, who doesn't want to be named, worked as a safety monitor.
"I've seen people on this platform be lured into engaging in ways that they shouldn't with complete strangers," he further stated. "I have seen games where the goal is to shoot as many people as possible in the depicted version of Sandy Hook or Columbine. I've seen remakes of Epstein Island on Roblox."
Concerns over child safety have long been an issue within the Roblox community.
Roblox's Past Regarding Safety Concerns
This has not been the first time that Roblox has been under scrutiny. While the creators need to describe the game and a content maturity label, people have seen children being active on the platform.
In 2024, almost 40% of the active players were under the age of 13, with more than 80 million global players per day. Countries like China, Russia, and Turkey have officially banned the platform, citing safety concerns.
In March 2025, CEO Dave Baszucki spoke about these concerns with BBC News.
"My first message would be, if you're not comfortable, don't let your kids be on Roblox. That sounds a little counterintuitive, but I would always trust parents to make their own decisions," he said.
Australia has also seen campaigns to declare it prohibited for children. Recently, Indonesia has also included Roblox in its list of platforms banned for under-16s.
As serious safety concerns and controversial content continue to plague the platform, the developers and CEO of Roblox urge parents to maintain constant supervision to protect children from potential online risks.
