Apr 12, 2026, 5:01 PM CUT

PlayStation 6 price leaks are already circulating. A new report suggests Sony's next console will feature three models, with the flagship possibly nearing the $1,000 mark. Here is the breakdown of the rumored costs.

As per some reports and a breakdown from YouTuber Moore's Law Is Dead, there will be three PlayStation 6 consoles at launch.

This line-up includes a budget-focused PS6 S, a handheld system, and a full flagship console. Each of them comes with very different expected price points.

The PS6 S is estimated to fall between $349 and $549, which makes it the most accessible option.

The handheld might be priced around $499 to $699. Despite being a compact console, this is rumored to deliver strong performance.

On the other hand, the main PS6 console is expected to range from $699 all the way up to $999. It is going to be powered by a more advanced chipset.

With rising RAM costs, supply chain pressure, and potential tariffs, it was determined that PS6 could touch the $1,000 mark. However, some insiders believe Sony will aim to keep the price in the $600-$800 competitive bracket.

If this leak is true, the PS6 may not just take the performance to a whole new level. It will completely redefine how players spend on a console in the next generation.

The PlayStation 6 Launch Timeline Rumored Uncertain

There may already be whispers about the PlayStation 6’s price, but rumors about a release window are where things get uncertain.

While 2027 once felt like a safe bet based on Sony’s console cycle, recent reports suggest that timeline is far from locked in.

With a global memory shortage and rising chip demand driven by AI infrastructure, the PS6 could now slip to 2028 or even later, turning early excitement into a waiting game.

Market factors also come into play. The current generation still has room to grow. Major PS5 titles are yet to fully utilize the existing hardware. That's why rushing into a new console could create more risk.

Now, everything relies on Sony and how they shape up. Read more at Gaming Community by Max Level!
