Sony launched its 2026 Days of Play promotion today with deep discounts across the PlayStation ecosystem.

Days of Play will run from May 27 to June 10. The event comes at a crucial time when the console gaming world is leaning toward increasing hardware prices. The promotion offers a rare savings opportunity in a market defined by rising hardware prices.

This year's Days of Play is not about PS5 console deals. Instead, the promotion heavily focuses on accessories, PS Store game discounts, and PlayStation Plus content.

Sony confirmed discounts on PlayStation VR2, DualSense Edge controllers, Pulse audio devices, and hundreds of PS5 and PS4 games. These include newer releases like Death Stranding 2, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, Helldivers 2, and Ghost of Yōtei.

The PlayStation VR2 receives a $100 price cut. The headset now costs $299 during the event. Apart from this, there will be heavy price cuts on the DualSense Edge wireless controllers. Here are all the hardware deals:

Although the company hasn't revealed the full catalog, early regional listings reportedly disclosed games like Sekiro and more getting major discounts.

Alongside the sales, PlayStation Plus members will be rewarded with expanded content throughout the event.

Destiny 2: Legacy Collection (2025) will also be a part of the Game Catalog on June 9 for Extra and Premium members.

Sony Skips PS5 Console Discounts Despite Growing Criticism

The omission of PS5 console discounts has raised eyebrows among consumers. There were rumors, but no announcements were made regarding it.

Unlike the current year's Days of Play, the previous year's event included discounts on the PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro models along with game and accessory deals. Because of this, many players expected similar deals this year as well.

The lack of console discounts sparked backlash, especially at a time when hardware prices have increased in multiple markets.

The PS Plus membership discounts are also limited mostly to new subscribers. New players joining PlayStation Plus during the promotion can save up to 33% on 12-month memberships. However, existing members can only get discounts when they upgrade to higher tiers.

Days of Play 2026 will also feature PlayStation Tournaments across various titles. These titles include Tekken 8, NBA 2K26, Mortal Kombat 1, Fortnite, and Gran Turismo 7 among others.

Participants in these tournaments can get exclusive themed rewards, compete for prizes, and enter sweepstakes.
