Layoff rumors are swirling around MrBeast's business empire. An online post pointed to a 65% staff reduction at one company. However, now a key executive has broken his silence to set the record straight.
The rumors started after an X post suggested several MrBeast businesses were quietly reducing staff. The claim pointed to LinkedIn headcount changes across Donaldson’s businesses.
The rumors centered on ViewStats, an analytics platform for YouTube creators. Some fans claimed the company had seen a dramatic drop in employee numbers. The report suggested a decline of nearly 65 percent in staff based on LinkedIn tracking.
MrBeast's snack brand, Feastables, was also part of the discussion. Reports suggested the brand currently has around 154 employees and that its workforce growth had slowed recently.
But Chucky Appleby, a senior member of MrBeast’s team and the CEO of ViewStats, quickly pushed back on those claims.
According to him, many employees were simply updating their LinkedIn profiles to list the main company, Beast Industries, instead of individual ventures. He also added that the organization is actively hiring and currently has more than 100 open roles available.
MrBeast recently dealt with another controversy
While the layoff rumors gained traction this week, Beast Industries faced another employee-related issue as recently as the first week of March.
Beast Industries fired a video editor after allegations surfaced from the prediction market platform Kalshi. The platform claimed a user who made about $4,000 in trades related to MrBeast content had suspiciously accurate results.
The trader was found to be a Beast Industries employee later on. Kalshi confirmed that he had access to confidential production information. The platform suspended the editor for two years, fined him $20,000, and reported the incident to federal regulators.
While Beast Games season two was a success, MrBeast's business empire has hit a rough patch, at least on the PR front.
