Insomniac Games
Insomniac Games officially launched preorders for Marvel's Wolverine following the PlayStation State of Play.
Enthusiasts can choose between the Standard and Deluxe editions. Physical copies are available at stores like Walmart, GameStop, and TheGameCollection for $69.99/£64.95.
On the other hand, the Deluxe Edition is available on the PlayStation Store for $79.99/£79.99. The PS Store also offers a Digital Deluxe Edition Upgrade for $10 for those who change their minds later.
A dedicated Collector’s Edition was notably absent from the presentation. It could be released later or may be skipped altogether.
The Walmart store already claims that the physical version has gone out of stock, with more than 100 purchases on the day preorders started. However, other stores still have the discs in stock.
Both the Standard and Deluxe editions offer players preorder perks. Preordering the Standard Edition grants players the Classic Brown Suit, Reflective Claws, 1 Additional Technique Point, and PS avatars for Mystique, Sabretooth, Wolverine, and Jean Grey.
Deluxe Edition preorder bonus includes five exclusive suits, including Incredible, Savage, Age of Apocalypse, Night Hunt, and New Leather.
It also rewards players with five exclusive claw designs: Smooth-Edged Claws, Hollow Blade Claws, Thick Claws, Serrated Spine Claws, and Tapered Claws. The package also includes three additional technique points.
The Deluxe Edition also includes all Standard Edition preorder rewards, giving players every bonus item available.
Marvel's Wolverine Brings Out Several Key Characters
Logan isn't the only X-Men character in the Insomniac Games title. As the preorder rewards suggest, fans will also get the chance to meet his longtime foe, Sabretooth.
In the State of Play presentation for Marvel's Wolverine, Sabretooth was seen for a few seconds. He appears in all his comic-book glory, complete with fangs and claws.
Mystique will also be a part of the upcoming game. However, it is unknown whether she'll be a friend or a foe. In the comics, she's been both. This could very well be true in Marvel's Wolverine as well.
Jean Grey will come to Logan's aid, helping captive mutants. Some of these mutants, such as Nature Girl, end up becoming Logan's students in the comics.
An interesting name that popped up during the State of Play presentation was Trask, through the Trask Industries-branded containers seen in the footage. Bolivar Trask is the well-known creator of the Sentinels, which actively hunt mutants.
Though these robots did not receive much footage during the event, they may be key antagonists in the game.
