On January 15, the makers of PUBG announced their 2026 management strategy and mid-to-long-term growth plans during KRAFTON LIVE TALK (KLT).

The crux of the meeting was that the company will focus on its “core gaming business” and accelerate its efforts to “building long-term Franchise IPs.”

The Krafton CEO, CH Kim, also said that in 2026, “KRAFTON will continue to pursue its mid-to-long-term strategy to secure a ‘Big Franchise IP.’”  The company aims to go beyond the single-game experience and provide a service across genres, platforms, and content.

CH Kim said, “While expanding the PUBG IP Franchise as a content platform, we will begin to create Franchise IPs via our new title pipeline and creative leadership.”

They laid its foundation in 2025, with the help of 15 newly recruited leaders. And now Krafton is presently working on 26 project development pipelines.

Of these 26, 12 titles are expected to be released by Krafton over the next 2 years. The titles include Palworld Mobile, Subnautica 2, and the mysterious NO LAW. Along with these new titles, the company is also planning to grow its PUBG franchise into a content platform.

With the help of UGC tools, cross-platform releases, and genre expansion, which includes PUBG: Black Budget and PUBG: Blindspot.

Apart from these global initiatives, the company is also looking to build its regional presence, and the Indian market remains its biggest outside of South Korea.

Krafton’s Expansion Plan

In the last few years, Krafton India has transformed into a development hub for the company rather than just a publishing arm. Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) has now officially crossed 240 million downloads and is also receiving regular updates.

The company has launched various other games, including Road to Valor: Empires, CookieRun India, Bullet Echo India, and many more.

With the help of Krafton India Gaming Incubator (KIGI), the company is nurturing young studios to meet international standards. Since 2021, Krafton has invested more than $170 million in Indian startups and is looking to invest further in technologies such as robotics and physical AI.
