Forza Horizon 6 earned a staggering 91 rating on Metacritic, while 007: First Light received a score of 88. Leaving both the AAA games behind is Mina the Hollower with a score of 93.
The game has been recognized with the Universal Acclaim rating on Metacritic. Releasing on 29 May, 2026, the game is developed by Yacht Club Games.
The developer has a unique style of creating retro-looking 2D games for modern devices. Their most famous creation is the Shovel Knight series.

Mina the Hollower is their brand new adventure-action game. It stays true to their style and gives players the 8-bit visuals that remind one of the original Game Boy video games.
The game follows the story of Mina, a Hollower who must go through various trials to rescue a cursed island. Players get to battle various foes and take down terrifying bosses.
The game allows players one signature weapon, Mina's trusty whip, Nightstar, along with various weapons obtained while playing. Looking at the gameplay, the mechanics and movesets certainly do justice to the action-adventure tag.
On the PS5, Mina the Hollower has a score of 92, while 007: First Light has a Metacritic score of 87 on the console. Forza Horizon 6 is yet to be released on Sony's platform.
What Do Critics Say About Mina the Hollower?
Critics love the Game Boy Color era aesthetic of Mina the Hollower. However, that isn't all. The game stays true to its visual choices without sacrificing originality.
IGN gave the game a 10 out of 10 and described it as a bigger game than it actually looks like.
"Mina the Hollower will scratch the same itch, with an open world that’s crammed with mysteries worth finding and lively, clever combat I couldn’t get enough of. It’s a big game in a small package, and an absolute masterpiece of an adventure," IGN wrote.
The Gamer also gave it a full rating and called it an "almost faultless game."
"Mina the Hollower is an almost faultless game that combines elements of nostalgic classics we know and love with a healthy dose of Yacht Club’s flair and expertise to make it something that truly stands out as a retro-inspired masterpiece," The Gamer wrote.
