Remember Xbox saying that they wanted Xbox to be "everywhere"? Well, it looks like the mission has begun. You can now turn your Windows 11 device into an Xbox via the Xbox Mode.

Jason Ronald, Vice President of Next Generation at Xbox, and Ian LeGrow, Corporate Vice President of Windows, shared the announcement via an Xbox Wire blog post.

The Xbox team stated, "Beginning today, we’re excited to share that Xbox mode will begin rolling out in select markets to Windows 11 PCs, including laptops, desktops, and tablets, bringing a console-inspired Xbox experience to more players than ever."

The team further stated, "It adds another way to enjoy games on your PC, with a controller-optimized, full-screen experience that is built for play."

The feature will continue rolling out to more users over the coming weeks. For those who already have access, you simply need to download the latest Windows update and head to Windows Settings, then Gaming, and then to Xbox Mode.

Although the mode is available, it is currently limited to some regions. Xbox stated, "Some players in select markets will be able to download the Xbox mode experience today, with availability expanding to more players in those markets over the next several weeks."

Xbox Mode Rolling Out on Windows 11 Devices

Xbox further elaborated on what the mode does. Via Xbox Mode, you can "browse and launch games using a controller-optimized interface." You can also "jump back and forth between Xbox mode and the Windows 11 desktop whenever you want."

Additionally, you can "access an aggregated game library, including the full games catalog from Xbox Game Pass, and installed games from leading PC storefronts."

Although it may not be new considering platforms like Steam Big Picture Mode, that offered similar full-screen experience on PC. Xbox Mode is just integrated into Windows 11. This also mirrors the experience provided by the ROG Ally and Legion Go, being controller-first and providing easy navigation.

Xbox Mode streamlines the PC ecosystem, providing an interface that puts your library and recently played titles within easy reach while removing background distractions.
