How to Get Infinite Lava in Minecraft

The Minecraft biome has lava in the far depths of the caves, mostly, with some rare exceptions. While you can collect it in a bucket to craft items, access to an infinite amount of lava will make your Minecraft journey far easier.
Lava can be used as fuel for furnaces. But its main use is that water flowing into lava creates Obsidian, an invaluable resource to build a Nether Portal or an enchanting table.
Dripstone Infinite Lava Farm
This is the only normal way to create an infinite lava source and continue to farm the resource: build a Dripstone Lava Farm. First, you need at least one bucket of lava.
Then, find Dripstone caves, where you can farm stalactites and stalagmites, which will serve as pointed dripstone for your cause.
Craft a cauldron with 7 iron ingots in a U shape and some fireproof blocks (stone or glass). The blocks will contain the lava, and the cauldron will help you collect it.
Place the cauldron on the ground, add the fireproof blocks two block spaces above it. Then, use the pointed dripstone blocks under the fireproof block, cover the area around it with fireproof material again.
Add the lava into the space and wait for the cauldron to start filling up with lava over time. Collect it and watch more lava fill up in due time.
The Nether World
While it is not technically 'building' something, the Nether is a world full of oceans of lava. Create a Nether portal, create a way to access the lava ocean, carry buckets, and transport the lava to your safe house to have an infinite source of lava.
Gaming the Game
If your Minecraft world has cheats on, you can create an infinite lava pool by entering the command, '/gamerule lavaSourceConversion true' in the chat window.
Then, proceed to build or dig a 2x2 hole or space, and dump lava in the opposite corners. The empty spaces will soon fill up with lava.
Use Mods
If you are playing with 'Create Mod', you can build a bottomless pool by finding or building a pool containing at least 10,000 source blocks. A Hose Pulley will then treat this as an infinite pool.
Uses of Lava
Lava is an efficient resource in Minecraft. A bucket of lava can smelt 100 items. Lava can also be used to create an infinite source of Cobblestone and Obsidian. It can also work as a passive defense against mobs. An infinite source of lava can help run an entire system without mining for fuel again.
