Hades II is coming to Xbox Series X/S on April 14, but it will make its way to the Xbox Game Pass as a day-one launch, while also being available as an Xbox Play Anywhere game.

As the game will be an Xbox Play Anywhere title, players will no longer need to purchase a separate copy for Xbox or PC.

They will be able to access their copy of the game and transfer their save data across Xbox, PC, and Cloud. This works as a handy tool for players to save some bucks, well, approximately $30.

Supergiant Games' acclaimed sequel to 2020's roguelike plays as an action-RPG and follows a dual-path structure; players can either ascend to Mount Olympus or descend into the underworld.

Players play as Melinoë, Princess of the Underworld, and embark on a quest to defeat the tyrannical Chronos, the Titan of Time, who is causing a ruckus in both worlds. The gameplay features fast-paced combat with Boons that give access to Greek Gods' powers, including sprint abilities.

Not only Boons, but Melinoë also has a range of dynamic weapons to choose from, with every weapon coming with its own regular and special attacks. The new Magick system lets you do casts.

Apart from bursting through enemies, you’ll unlock a menagerie of Animal Familiars to follow you through the runs.

Hades II's announcement during the 30-minute Xbox Partner Preview event makes it intriguing to look at why it is such a huge announcement.

Hades II Receives Praise From All Over

This masterpiece is a universally acclaimed title at this point, with a Metascore of 95 and a User score of 8.6 on Metacritic.

Not only this, the game stands at a score of 95 on OpenCritic with a total of 115 critic reviews.

The sequel received about 10-15 nominations thus far. Hades II also has the prestigious "The Game Awards 2025's Best Action Game" trophy to its name.

With BAFTA holding its annual game awards ceremony soon, it is most likely for Hades II to snatch even more awards in the upcoming ceremonies.
