Good News for GTA VI Fans as PlayStation Makes a Key Move

After Rockstar finally announced that GTA VI will release on November 19, 2026, data miners discovered something hopeful. They found 'Grand Theft Auto VI' title IDs in the PlayStation database, giving fans some more hope.
This backend step is usually taken to prepare the game for digital pre-orders to go live soon. This means fans may expect Rockstar to announce the digital pre-order date for GTA VI sooner than expected.
With the GDC Festival of Gaming 2026 starting on March 9, Rockstar could be gearing up to open pre-orders for a much-anticipated game.
Rockstar Games has already confirmed GTA VI’s release date as November 16, 2026. Furthermore, digital pre-orders for games typically go live 3–6 months before release, serving to build hype and secure early purchases.
But with the hype around the game, it won’t be out of scope that they announce it earlier. However, the biggest concern for gamers would actually be the price of the game.
GTA VI Could Be the Most Expensive Game Ever Released
A massive budget, reportedly between $1 billion and $2 billion, was poured into the title. Naturally, fans are expecting the game to be positioned as the most expensive video game ever.
Many fans are worried the game may cost well over $120. However, insider SynthPotato had some differing opinions. “I’m sticking with my prediction of a standard $70, nothing real indicates $80 or above outside of fake analysts yapping,“ he said, predicting his pre-order price for the game.
Although the final price is unknown, the hype around the game's release is undeniable. And whatever the price point may be, it is expected to break the sales records, if not come close to the top.
