GMCL Picks 5 Hopes and 5 Predictions For Summer Game Fest 2026

Summer Game Fest 2026 will kick off on June 5. Hosted by Geoff Keighley, the event will reveal new details about numerous upcoming and existing games.

Naturally, fans expect and hope to see certain titles. Veterans of various franchises may also look forward to new games from popular developers such as Bethesda Softworks or Rockstar Games.

Here's a list of five predictions for the Summer Games Fest 2026 and five announcements we hope to hear.

GTA 6 - Hope

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick previously said in April 2026 that marketing for GTA 6 will begin soon. He has also mentioned that the marketing may start in the summer.

“So the next few weeks I don’t think it’ll be summertime yet, but when it’s summertime, Rockstar expects to start marketing ‘GTA 6.'” Zelnick told Variety in May 2026.

Since he said this in May, a new trailer may not come out in June during the Summer Games Fest 2026, but it's still close.

Persona 6 - Expected

Persona 6 might finally be on the horizon. Recent leaks from reliable sources have suggested that the game will be set in a high school environment.

The JRPG is very popular for its fantasy elements blended into what seems like a normal student's life. Considering the recent rumors heating up, a new announcement trailer could finally be seen.

The Elder Scrolls 6 - Hope

It has been almost 8 years since Bethesda Softworks announced The Elder Scrolls 6 at their E3 conference. Since then, there has been no word about the upcoming RPG title.

The Elder Scrolls is one of the most popular RPG franchises of all time. Its action, storytelling, and overall gameplay have made it a pop-culture phenomenon over the years.

Fans can only hope to finally get an update on the game at the Summer Games Fest 2026.

The Witcher 4 - Expected

A tech demo for The Witcher 4 was conducted in June 2025. Developer CD Projekt Red moved the game from its Cyberpunk 2077 engine (RED) to Unreal Engine 5.

The new game will see Ciri as the protagonist instead of Geralt. It may also offer fans narrative flexibility, just like Cyberpunk 2077. Perhaps a new trailer could be shown at the Summer Games Fest 2026.

Cyberpunk 2 - Hope

Mike Pondsmith, the creator of the original tabletop RPG Cyberpunk, has previously spoken about an upcoming game. Reportedly codenamed Project Orion, the game takes players outside Night City.

"It doesn't feel like Blade Runner. It feels more like Chicago gone wrong. I said 'yeah, I can see this working.'" Pondsmith said at the Digital Dragons conference in 2025.

The creator had visited devs at CD Projekt Red to see the progress on the mysterious upcoming title. Perhaps fans could get an announcement trailer at the Summer Games Fest 2026.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword - Expected

Onimusha: Way of the Sword was announced in 2024, and fans still don't have a solid release date. However, the game is set to be released in 2026, which makes the Summer Games Fest the best time for an announcement.

In the new mainline title, you get to play as Miyamoto Musashi, the legendary Japanese figure. The game is set in a dark Edo-era Kyoto where players must fight off malevolent forces.

It'll be a classic come back to life on modern devices such as the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Divinity - Hope

Larian Studios shook up the gaming world by placing a grim monolith in the Mojave Desert to promote Divinity. The game was later revealed at the Game Awards 2025. Dubbed as the developer's most ambitious project yet, Divinity remains shrouded in mystery.

It's set to be an RPG title much like the Baldur's Gate games. However, its scope is set to be much bigger. Fans may just get a new look at the game at the Summer Games Fest 2026.

Witchbrook - Expected

Witchbrook is a cosy life-sim social RPG. The game has a unique pixel-art design, which has become quite appealing for indie games. Players get to enter a magic school, forge an identity for their character, build, farm, and engage in social interactions.

The game was previously delayed and is currently scheduled for release in 2026. An exact date, however, remains unclear. It may make an appearance at the Summer Games Fest 2026.

Hollow Knight: Silksong DLC - Hope

Hollow Knight: Silksong was wildly popular. The game follows the adventures of Hornet as the titular character dives into the mystical world of Pharloom.

The reception to the game was impressive, and since its release, there has been no new content. Considering its relevance and fame, a new DLC may be well-received by fans.

Mass Effect 5 - Expected

It has been just about five years since Mass Effect 5 was officially announced. The game is in active development, and the efforts may be ramping up since the conclusion of Dragon Age: The Veilguard in 2024.

The franchise is known for being an original sci-fi space drama. Players must make difficult choices in the RPG games and fight alien foes. The games have been a gripping blend of action and narrative storytelling.

A new update on the game may be released during the Summer Games Fest 2026.
