Gears of War: E-Day Release Window Teased Through WWE Triplemania Announcement

One of the biggest franchises of Xbox is set to make a comeback via marketing in a relatively fashionable way. And with the recent developments of WWE Triplemania, the game might have a release window soon.

According to a report from GamesRadar, Gears of War: E-Day is the official sponsor of the pro wrestling event, which links the release of the game around the same time.

"Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide and WWE today announced that its pro wrestling mega-event, Triplemania 2026, will take place over two full days for the first time ever on September 11, at an unannounced location, and September 13 in Mexico City. The event's sponsor? Gears of War: E-Day," Kaan Serin of GamesRadar reported.

Per GamesRadar, this raises speculation about whether the game will release on a date in September, as Xbox can't simply stick the game over the boards of a major WWE event without people asking when the release date is.

"A dedicated Gears of War: E-Day Direct will also immediately follow up the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7, promising a deep dive on 'new details, gameplay and insights,'" Serin added.

The same report also suggested that the game will try to avoid being in the same release window as GTA 6, which, frankly, every other game is trying to avoid right now.

But before it is released, let us look at the confirmed details of the game.

All About Gears of War: E-Day So Far

Gears of War: E-Day is a third-person shooter developed by The Coalition and published by Xbox Game Studios.

"Experience the brutal horror of Emergence Day through the eyes of Marcus Fenix in the origin story of one of gaming's most acclaimed sagas," the description of the game on Steam reads.

As the logline indicates, the game is set 14 years before Gears of War. It features younger versions of the iconic protagonists, Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago.

The story follows the Emergence Day, which is a full-scale and planned planet-wide assault on Sera. The war heroes find themselves fighting against the Locust Horde.

"These subterranean monsters, grotesque and relentless, erupt from below, laying siege on humanity itself," the description further reads.

With this new speculation about the game's release window, it will be intriguing to see what will be revealed in the game's Direct on June 7.
