Forza Horizon 6 may soon cross 5 million copies sold. As of the time of writing, Forza Horizon 6 has made roughly $325 million in gross revenue.
The game has already sold approximately 4.9 million copies since its advanced access phase that started on May 15, 2026, according to Alinea Analytics.
These numbers reflect the game's playerbase on Steam and Xbox since the title is yet to be released on PlayStation 5. Approximately 1.7 million players opted to get the advanced access edition of the game.
The game was purchased by almost 2.1 million Xbox players, while buyers on Steam bought 2.8 million copies. To add to it, over 3 million people got access to the game via the Game Pass.
Even though the game has sold more copies on Steam, it's the Xbox players who are contributing to the high revenue. A large chunk of players buying Forza Horizon 6 on Xbox come from Western countries, where the game is slightly more expensive.
The title's Steam player base is more spread out in comparison, with China being the second-largest market for Forza Horizon 6. Interestingly, Japan, the country portrayed in the game, is also its fourth-largest market on Steam.
Therefore, the platform accounts for 49% of the game's revenue while Xbox contributes a staggering 51%.
Forza Horizon 6 Stands to Make Even More Later in the Year
Forza Horizon 6 has made $325 million in just about a week. After becoming one of the highest-selling games of the year, it's likely that it will continue to rake in more revenue.
In fact, the gross revenue could have been higher already.
However, Game Pass subscribers get day-one access to the title, and approximately three million subscribers have played the game. Naturally, this drives revenue away from the game.
On the other hand, Steam sells units and brings gross revenue in. Over time, the figures will only increase.
The title's PlayStation 5 release later in 2026 will be yet another major revenue stream for Playground Games. This launch will give the game access to a whole new player base awaiting the title on their consoles.
That being said, one of the biggest player bases for the game is the people who have played previous games. Of all the 2.8 million Steam players, 44.6% have played Forza Horizon 5.
For Xbox, this figure stands at 93.3%.
Players who enjoyed the hardcore racing and entertainment of Forza Horizon 4 also purchased the new game. Overall, the title's cultural impact is high and helps bring old players back to the circuit, waiting for the checkered flag.
