DC has officially announced a new fighting game called DCKO. Set for release in 2027, the game features iconic characters such as Batman, Superman, and more.
Unlike previous fighting games in the Injustice series, DCKO is a free-to-play title designed for mobile. It's a 2v2 tag fighter that features an online PvP mode along with a PvE mode.
Batman is just one of the many popular superheroes included in the game's seemingly massive roster. Another iconic character featured in DCKO is John Constantine, who is appearing in a video game for the first time in over a decade.

The game's official website informs fans that a new character will be revealed every month. It also reveals that the game will feature deep character customization.
Players can even sign up for pre-registration and earn rewards.
With each registration milestone the game reaches, all players will receive set rewards, including in-game currency, consumables, and more.
DCKO is in stark contrast to other popular Batman games such as the Arkham series.
Many fans have pointed out how DCKO differs drastically from Injustice by NetherRealm Studios, which has acquired critical acclaim in the DC community.
Fans disappointed in mobile-only DC fighting game featuring Batman
Playing as Batman or one of the many popular DC characters is one of DCKO's highlights. However, the game is coming out after the Injustice games became highly popular among fans.
Naturally, many were expecting a game related to the Injustice franchise. If not that, fans would have appreciated a release on PC.
However, DCKO is a completely different game. It does not feature the darker tone seen in the Injustice games, nor is it coming out on any platform besides mobile.
In one Reddit thread in the r/TwoBestFriendsPlay subreddit, fans reacted poorly to the game's announcement. Many fans expressed frustration regarding its mobile-only status, while others found NetherRealm Studios's absence concerning.
Regardless, DCKO is the latest fighting game featuring Batman and other DC superheroes, and there's no news on Injustice 3 as of the time of writing.
