Veteran voice actor Tom Kane, who lent his voice to several video game franchises as well as films, has sadly passed away at the age of 64. The American voice actor was an integral part of various games and films such as Call of Duty and Star Wars.
Kane was well known in the gaming industry for his incredibly versatile voice acting as the Call of Duty Zombies character Takeo Masaki, as well as his contributions to Marvel and DC franchise titles.
As per GameSpot, the cause of the unfortunate event is cited due to the complications Kane had because of a stroke in November 2020, after which he also struggled to speak, and in 2021, he retired from his profession.
This unfortunate news comes from the representatives of Kane and also his Talent agency, Galactic Productions. The agency penned a tribute in a Facebook statement after the loss.
"From his unforgettable performances in Star Wars to countless animated series, documentaries, and games, Tom brought wisdom, strength, humor, and heart to every role he touched," the statement read. "His voice became part of our lives, our memories, and the stories we carry with us. But beyond the incredible career was an extraordinary man."
Galactic Productions also acknowledged how incredible a family man Tom Kane was and how his legacy will never die.
"Tom was a devoted husband and father who, alongside his wife, built a loving family of nine children — three biological and six welcomed through adoption and fostering. Though his voice may now be silent, the characters, stories, and love he gave to the world will live on forever," it further read.
The post ended with the team giving him a Star Wars-themed final message. "Rest in peace, Tom Kane. Thank you for everything. May the Force be with you, always."
