Cheating problems in ARC Raiders had started affecting the game's player experience and overall momentum, prompting Embark Studios to roll out Denuvo Anti-Cheat on May 19 in an effort to regain control.
Embark addressed the situation in its Patch Notes 1.29.0 blog post released alongside the update.
"Following a positive rollout in THE FINALS, Denuvo Anti-Cheat will also come to ARC Raiders starting May 19th, initially to a limited player pool, with plans to expand after close monitoring."

The studio was adamant about not using Denuvo's Digital Rights Management (DRM) service so that the anti-cheat system would have minimal impact on performance.
Furthermore, the studio stated, "With Denuvo Anti-Cheat and Anybrain, we are working to strengthen ARC Raiders' systems even further."
The update also incorporates Anybrain AI Anti-Cheat to strengthen detection capabilities.
Update 1.29.0 also introduces several gameplay adjustments.
ARC Raiders Update 1.29.0: All Changes Explained
First off, the game introduces a new trader, Ermal, who is part of the Nomadic Envoy, with his camp set in Speranza. He brings with him a range of Topside trades, including cosmetics, blueprints, Raider Tokens, and gameplay and progression items, which also include items for current Raider projects.
ARC Raiders players who are above level 25 can now barter high-value ARC materials and any stockpiled rare weapons in exchange for Expanded Stash space or Expedition Vault access, which enables Raiders to store five items for retrieval after an expedition.
Not only that, there is also a new grenade launcher to tackle ARC threats. Along with these additions, the game has had several bugs and issues fixed, along with weapon durability adjustments.
Also, the base fire rate of the AR Bettina has been increased from 235 to 250, with players now being immune to stuns when entering a Raider Hatch.
The percentage of the Bullet Velocity Bonus has been increased from 25% to 30%, and damage fall off distance has also been increased by 15%.
A safety feature has been added to the game, with players now being able to block others after reporting them. Also, the power cost of the Photoelectric Cloak has been reduced from 10/s to 5/s.
With this new update, Embark hopes to counter the cheating situation and bring it to an end while also giving players new things to get excited about.
