Roblox is as popular among creators as it has been among players for the longest time. And now, Roblox's latest initiative has made it easier for users to create games on the platform.

With 132 million daily active users, Roblox is set to introduce a brand new set of AI Tools called Build, focused on helping users create games and experiences on its platform.

Build will first undergo a test phase from July 28 onwards, with Roblox set to add a mobile-first Build Tab into the Roblox Studio within the platform's app.

Roblox's announcement stated, "Somewhere right now, someone has an idea for a game. They know exactly what it would feel like to play. They just don’t know how to build it. Today, that changes."

The positive side of Build will be Roblox's commitment to making a free tier of the service available so everyone can access these tools to make their game creation process smoother.

Right now, Build will only be available for users nine years old and older, and published games must pass safety checks before being made available to users 16 years old and above.

Build games made for Roblox Kids and other select catalogs will undergo an extended review process before being available to the intended user audience.

Roblox Founder and CEO opens up on Build decision

As Build is introduced to the Roblox platform, Founder and CEO David Baszucki has explained the company's thought process and vision behind this decision with a post on the social media platform X.

Baszucki said, "This isn’t just for studios who've already proven themselves. Some of the most important work in this industry has come from first-time creators – who were often Roblox players first – with a single focused idea."

Many popular Roblox games and experiences have been made by first-time creators or individuals instead of experienced studios.

Stickmasterluke had no professional background or experience in game development. Meanwhile, Coeptus and Wolfpaq built one-person passion projects that went viral.

Build will allow more of these opportunities to users with creative ideas and a willingness to commit to developing them into something concrete.
