It's a great time to be a gamer, as a huge franchise like Star Wars is finally stacking up again. And this time, it's not just one or two titles. However, most of them are still deep in development, and a few are set to release in 2026.
With Star Wars Day arriving on May 4th, fans can’t keep calm about these upcoming titles. From tactical strategy to full RPGs and racing, here’s a look at them:
1. Star Wars: Galactic Racer
Developer: Fuse Games
Release Date: October 6, 2026
Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC
A racing game set in the Star Wars universe that takes inspiration from classic podracing. It is set in the Outer Rim and features illegal high-speed competitions after the fall of the Empire. There are different classes of vehicles to choose from, such as speeders and repulsorcraft. Each class has its own driving mechanics. Players can dive into both a single-player campaign and PvP modes.
2. Star Wars: Zero Company
Developer: Bit Reactor, Respawn Entertainment
Release Date: 2026
Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC
Zero Company is set during the final phase of the Clone Wars. In this single-player, turn-based tactics game, you play as a former Republic officer named Hawks (customizable). Your job is to lead a squad on high-risk missions. The game focuses on squad management, permadeath mechanics, and strategic combat similar to XCOM.
3. Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic
Developer: Arcanaut Studios
Release Date: TBA
Platforms: PC (Consoles TBA)
Fate of the Old Republic serves as the spiritual successor to Knights of the Old Republic. It is a narrative-driven, single-player RPG. Player choice, a branching storyline, and Force-based combat define the experience.
4. Star Wars Jedi 3
Developer: Respawn Entertainment
Release Date: TBA
Platforms: TBA
The third installment in the Jedi series continues the story of Cal Kestis. It is expected to conclude the trilogy following Fallen Order and Survivor. Details are limited, but the game is confirmed to be in development with the same core gameplay style. It will likely expand on combat, exploration, and narrative depth.
5. Star Wars Eclipse
Developer: Quantic Dream
Release Date: TBA
Platforms: TBA
Eclipse is a narrative-driven action-adventure game set in the High Republic era. The game focuses more on storytelling than combat. There will be multiple playable characters and a branching storyline.
6. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake
Developer: Saber Interactive
Release Date: TBA
Platforms: PS5, PC (Xbox TBA)
A faithful remake of the 2003 RPG classic. It is expected to feature modern visuals and gameplay while keeping the core story intact. The current status of the game remains uncertain, as it has faced development challenges and long periods of silence.
7. Untitled Star Wars Game (Skydance New Media)
Developer: Skydance New Media
Release Date: TBA
Platforms: TBA
Veteran writer-director and Uncharted creator Amy Hennig is leading this project. It will likely deliver a cinematic story with strong, character-driven gameplay. It remains one of the most secretive Star Wars projects in development.
8. Star Wars Collectible Card Game
Developer: Zero36 Studio, CCG Lab
Release Date: TBA
Platforms: PC, Mobile
As the name suggests, players will build decks using iconic franchise characters and compete in strategy-based matches. The game aims to expand the franchise into the live-service card genre. It will be available on both mobile and PC.
That’s the full picture as of May 2026. Only two games are close, while everything else is still cooking behind the scenes.
The spread of genre of the franchise is a shift from the exclusivity era by Electronic Arts(2013-2023), when most Star Wars titles were limited to third-person shooters and action-adventure games like Star Wars Battlefront and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
With the license now open to different studios, the franchise is set to explore and expand into different genres including racing and even card-based games.
