All Leviathans in Subnautica 2 and Where to Find Them

Subnautica 2 features a completely new roster of Leviathans with zero returning creatures from the original game.

Deep-sea exploration in the Early Access sequel is more unpredictable as players encounter five massive entities across new biomes. Returning players face the same danger.

Collector Leviathan - Graveyard, Root Canyon

The Collector Leviathan's roars are terrifying. You can hear the squid-like giant approaching from a distance in the Graveyard and Root Canyon zones.

The best areas to find it are near the Observatory. The Collector Leviathan should not be taken lightly. It's a hostile species and can be extremely aggressive.

Once the music changes and you hear the creature's sound cue, it's best to prepare yourself. Its massive size makes flight the safest option.

Given its name, it may have a territorial nature. Scanning this Leviathan is not an easy task and should be done with caution.

Shiver Leviathan - The Void

Found in the Void, the Shiver Leviathan is a terrifying entity with its skull visible through its skin. It can often be seen alongside the smaller males.

Like the Collector Leviathan, the Shiver Leviathan is also hostile toward players. To find it, you can wait near the out-of-bounds border until it appears.

Scanning the aggressive species is a massive challenge. If you have teammates, one player can distract the creature while the other scans it from a blind spot.

This may be the best way to scan it and still survive the encounter.

Deepwing Brooder Leviathan - Random

The Deepwing Brooder Leviathan can appear anywhere in the ocean. It's a docile creature that resembles a manta ray because of its wide, winged shape.

It's easy to approach this giant due to its calm nature toward players. Generally, you'll see them swimming in small groups.

Scanning the docile creatures is simple and safe. However, they can be difficult to find because they spawn randomly across the map.

The Great Jaw Leviathan - The Shallows

The Great Jaw Leviathan is a stationary, clam-shaped entity. It does not move and appears to be attached to the ocean floor in The Shallows.

However, it's best not to enter its jaws. Players can become trapped inside and be exposed to harmful toxins. Scanning it is perhaps the easiest task once you locate it.

The World Tree - Northeast from the Lifepod

The final entry on the list is not an animal. Instead, this Titan-class Leviathan appears to be related to flora. It can be found in multiple areas across the map, but the easiest way to locate it is by looking northeast of the Lifepod.

It's perhaps the largest Leviathan in Subnautica 2, stretching far above the ocean's surface. You can simply look toward the horizon to spot it.

The World Tree is dormant and, once again, stationary. Therefore, players do not face any immediate danger from it during Subnautica 2's Early Access period.

Whether or not it evolves into something else in the future remains to be seen.
