Pokémon GO trainers face a difficult choice when evolving Eevee into one of its eight forms. Battle utility in the GO Battle League and Raids determines which evolutions are essential.
But how do you actually get them in-game? The easiest trick is using specific nicknames once per evolution type before hitting that evolve button with 25 candies. After that, you'll have to rely on things like specific lure modules, walking them as your buddy, or playing at certain times of day.
This ranking identifies the top budget attackers and PvP champions to prioritize for your team. If they get outclassed easily, they rank lower.
8. Flareon
Coming in last is Flareon. Even though it hits pretty hard with a high attack stat, nobody really uses it in PvP. The Fire-type category is too crowded. Beasts like Charizard or Blaziken will always outshine it, leaving Flareon as nothing more than a desperate backup.
7. Jolteon
Back in the early days of Pokémon Go, Jolteon's high attack power made it a fun pick. But sadly, it just can't keep up with the modern meta anymore. It misses out on the best Electric moves and gets totally overshadowed by heavy hitters like Electivire.
6. Leafeon
Leafeon actually has some decent physical attack and defense stats. But man, it has way too many type weaknesses, five of them, actually. You’re honestly much better off using standard Grass-types like Venusaur or Roserade if you want to win consistently in any league in Pokémon Go.
5. Espeon
Espeon is basically the ultimate glass cannon. This Psychic-type actually has the highest base attack and max CP out of the whole family. It’s pretty awesome if you just want to speedrun clearing out Gyms. Avoid using it in PvP battles where its low durability becomes a liability.
4. Glaceon
Glaceon grabs this spot because having a solid Ice-type is extremely handy. You need strong Ice attacks to take down annoying Dragon-types filling up the Raids. It serves as an easy-to-get alternative if you haven't managed to build a Mamoswine or any other heavy-hitter Ice-type just yet.
3. Vaporeon
It offers the sheer bulk of its huge HP pool and can overwhelm opponents in fights. It’s a dependable budget Water-type. It isn't the absolute broken mon it was at launch, but it still puts in serious work for Gym defense if you don't have a Kyogre or a better Water-type alternative.
2. Sylveon
Sylveon is one of the top three Fairy-type Pokémon in Pokémon Go. It has extreme offensive power and is useful in the Master League. By using Charm as the fast move, Sylveon absolutely shreds scary Dragon- and Dark-type mons. It’s a perfect replacement for expensive Fairy attackers like Togekiss on your team.
1. Umbreon
The crown jewel of the set and being the best Eevee evolution in Pokémon Go is Umbreon. The defensive bulk makes it an absolute nightmare to deal against in the Great and Ultra Leagues. It may be average for PvE raids, its dominance in PvP makes it the most competitive Eeveelution you can get.
While Niantic loves dropping move updates and balance changes every season, a random move buff could totally shake up this entire list tomorrow. This ranking reflects the current meta until the next major move rebalance.
So, which Eeveelution are you picking?
