All Characters in Marvel's Wolverine Game After State of Play 2026 Showcase

The 2026 PlayStation State of Play expanded on the gameplay and characters for Insomniac Games' Marvel’s Wolverine. New footage revealed a big lineup of X-Men heroes and villains. From the lethal Reavers to Jean Grey, Logan's solo adventure is shaping up to be a mutant-filled epic.

Reavers

To start with, the recurring enemies Wolverine will face in the game are the Reavers. They are a group of enhanced cyborgs who debuted in Uncanny X-Men issue #229.

The characters have various abilities, including enhanced strength, speed, and durability. Considering Logan's adamantium claws, these powers won't be much of a challenge for him.

Sabretooth

The bigger challenge will come from Wolverine's longtime nemesis, Sabretooth. In the comics, he is portrayed as a psychopathic mutant whose powers are somewhat similar to Logan's.

Sabretooth is instantly recognizable due to his long hair, sharp fangs, claws, and healing factor. He was also part of the same Weapon X super-soldier program that created Wolverine.

Ogun (Possibly)

The new footage also gives us a look at a mysterious figure who keeps their face behind a Japanese Oni mask. This could certainly be Ogun, a very well-known foe of the titular character.

Ogun is a ninja and martial artist who once mentored Wolverine. He would later turn against him and may even possess mystical and sorcerous powers. The character is incredibly durable, strong, and may have a healing factor.

Omega Red

Previous gameplay footage had shown other X-Men villains in Marvel's Wolverine. One of them is Omega Red, a mutant capable of draining others' life force. He is hinted to be a former Soviet military soldier and was part of a super-soldier program created by the KGB.

He also has superhuman strength and speed and can release pheromones that are fatal to humans. Omega Red is equipped with powerful carbonadium coils, which he uses to strike his opponents.

Mystique

Mystique is also a part of Marvel's Wolverine. However, it is unknown which side she'll fight for. In the comics, she has been both a friend and a foe to the X-Men.

She is one of the most popular characters from the comics and films. A shapeshifter and an elite spy, Mystique can infiltrate restricted areas with great ease.

Jean Grey

Marvel's Wolverine will also feature Jean Grey, one of the most powerful mutants in the Marvel universe. Often depicted as Logan's love interest, Grey possesses powers of telekinesis, telepathy, and more.

She is also the manifestation of the Phoenix Force, which allows her to wield powers at a cosmic level. Jean Grey is not an enemy most would like to fight, given the sheer scale of her abilities.

She may be the most powerful mutant in the game, depending on how she is portrayed.

Leech

Leech is a mutant who is often depicted as a young male child. He has the ability to dampen or suppress the abilities of any superpowered individuals around him.

His distinct appearance makes him a staple of X-Men media. Given his appearance, he is often shunned by the public.

Leech is one of the mutants captured by the Reavers. Wolverine was shown trying to save him, among others.

Nature Girl

The gameplay footage also gives us a very quick glimpse of a mutant child with antlers hiding inside the truck intercepted by Wolverine. This appears to be Lin Li, also known as Nature Girl.

She is a mutant with deer-like antlers who can communicate with plants and animals. She has been depicted as a student of Wolverine and Storm in the comics.

Toad

Another recognizable X-Men character who seemingly appears in the new footage is Toad. He is one of the captives Wolverine is trying to save.

Toad's signature goggles make him easy to identify. He has an elongated tongue that carries poisonous saliva. He also possesses superhuman strength and can leap great distances, just like a toad.
