All Changes in Crimson Desert Patch 1.01 Explained

Mar 30, 2026, 5:33 PM CUT

Crimson Desert had a strong launch for Pearl Abyss, but the rough edges showed up quickly. Patch 1.01 doesn’t try to overhaul the game. It goes after the parts that were slowing things down.

One of the bigger additions is the Refinement Token. It lets players push gear straight to Stage 4 without grinding for extra materials, taking some of the early upgrade fatigue out of the loop. These tokens come from main and faction quests, so progression still matters.

The inventory change is more useful than it sounds. Once you hit the 240-slot cap, extra rewards are converted into material boxes instead of piling up. Fast travel feels quicker too, with shorter loading times making movement less of a pause.

A few quests that used to stall progress have been sorted out. Missing Companion, Dance with the Devil, and parts of New Journey won’t hold things up anymore. Crashes have been reduced too, across both console and PC.

Then there are the smaller fixes. You can dump items into storage in one go. Resting is easier to access. Cooking no longer asks you to go through every step thanks to Make Now.

The bigger difference is how early this is happening. Pearl Abyss didn’t move this quickly with Black Desert Online. Here, the usual problem areas are being handled right after launch instead of months later.

New Mounts and Combat Adjustments

Movement and combat were two of the bigger complaints, and this update goes straight at that.

Movement feels tighter now. Sprinting is smoother, and basic interactions don’t fight you as much. Picking things up or dealing with NPCs is less awkward than before. Combat follows the same direction. You can evade while using focus skills, and fights are easier to read with added weak point indicators.

Aerial abilities haven’t just been buffed. Aerial Stab now gets more expensive if you keep using it, which cuts down on spam. At the same time, other aerial moves and Crow Wings drain less stamina. Flight feels less restrictive now, mainly because you can use gear mid-air.

Boss fights are a bit less punishing. You don’t get hit the second you revive anymore. There are new mounts as well. White Bear, Rock Tusk Warthog, a few others. They help with traversal, and there are rewards tied to capturing them.

On the technical side, PlayStation 5 gets a Fixed 4K Output option. Sharper image, that’s the main idea.

This is not a content-heavy patch. The focus is on improving how the game feels moment to moment.
