A gamer's expectations from GTA 6 Online

Some reports suggest that GTA V Online gets nearly 10 million weekly players as of 2026. One can only imagine the impact GTA 6 Online would have if it were released into the wild.

Currently, Rockstar Games has yet to unveil an online mode for its upcoming title. However, that doesn't mean fans don't have expectations lined up.

To start with, GTA 6 Online should certainly prioritize a cross-save feature as suggested in an article by DualShockers.

Once the game gets a PC release, players should be able to access their saves on their console and PC as well. This isn't the case with GTA V Online, where cross-save isn't available, making it a huge problem for multi-platform players.

Furthermore, GTA V's map can be improved upon by using dynamic weather changes. In fact, the changes could alter how the map looks or functions, such as tornadoes and hurricanes altering the landscape, enhancing the replayability.

Not only would this add a layer of immersion, but it could also create space for weather-specific events, something that GTA V Online lacks according to the article.

GTA 6 Online would be a very social experience, just like the existing game. Therefore, it would also make sense to include a deep gifting system in the game.

Players would benefit by being able to gift cars, guns, and even GTA$ directly to their friends, creating a stronger community and driving social spending.

More importantly, GTA 6 Online could use a roleplaying system. One where players can be anything and play the game in any way they please.

This would make it an even better open-world adventure than the existing title.

Trouble for GTA 6 Online, new game advertised as a single-player experience

If GTA 6 Online is coming, it's not coming anytime soon. The official Rockstar Games website describes the upcoming game as a single-player experience.

It does not mention a multiplayer mode or a new online iteration of its existing game. That being said, this is typical of Rockstar Games.

The company is known for not revealing information until it's ready to do so. GTA Online has been wildly successful, generating billions in revenue since its launch. Rockstar released the online component just 14 days after GTA V arrived in September 2013.

Therefore, many believe a new version set in the world of GTA 6 is inevitable. However, as things stand, there is no indication of an online version being released on November 19, 2026 according to the official website.
